Blogger Burnout

Lately, blog writing has become a task on my to do list. It used to motivate and satisfy me and make me smile. It's not doing that as much for me lately. And I can't help wondering if I might get more checked off my to do list if I spent less time sitting at the keyboard.

So I've decided its time to take a blog holiday.

Of course, I'll still be reading what's going on in your gardens and getting inspired and being reminding of the things I should be planting.

I hope I will be back... but I will let autumn pass first and then decide.

So I'll leave for now with a couple of snaps of the garden mid autumn. Weeds and mess and all.

  1. Awww....I'll miss your posts. Completely understand though. I've taken a few blog holidays for the exact same reason. Enjoy your blogging break and hope to hear from you again soon.

  2. I haven't necessarily had 'more time' since stopping blogging, because I was down to about one blog post a week or fortnight (or month) by the end anyways, because I had too much to do in 'the real world'. But I am finding it has motivated me to work on my other creative (and hopefully more useful) outlets, now that I don't blab on my blog anymore.

Good luck, enjoy your break, hope you get your mojo back... or can let it go peacefully, if you don't!

  5. It's always good to have a bloggy break now and again VG. Some people take years before they hit the keyboard again, it just depends on lifes little circumstances.

Take care, we will all still be here when you get back!

  6. The reason I didn't start a blog in the first place is that I knew I couldn't devote the time I would need to, to maintain it.

I admire all of you who have sustained such interesting, informative and inclusive blogs. I love reading them. I'll miss your updates VG but like everyone else, totally understand.

I hope to see you back again one day, refreshed and revived.

  8. Au Revoir! I hope you will be back, but if you are not finding blogging rewarding, then I think you have made the right choice. Leave me a comment from time to time, maybe? :)

  14. When I get too busy, blogging can hang over my head like an unfinished chore. It's hard to fit everything thing we love doing into one tiny life!!

  15. I will miss your honest posts but I do understand. I have taken a few blogging breaks and I have also found it good to give myself permission to blog infrequently when life gets busy. I think no one really minds if you only post once a week. Maybe it matters in the beginning to keep followers interested and let them get to know you, but in reality if you were only posting once a week I would still be here. Enjoy your break.

  16. I know where your coming from, enjoy the break. So that you know, I've just got back into the flow of blogging and what i have noticed is that I have lost a lot of readers and its taking time to get them back. I hope you have no problem of this when you return. Take care and enjoy your blogging break.
